Women receiving antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care at the Blake Maternity Centre at Gosport War Memorial are benefiting from increased maternal satisfaction and a familiar home-like environment, thanks to collaboration from our charity and the Trust’s League of Friends.
Enhancements including new curtains have been warmly received by women at the centre, who say this addition makes them feel more relaxed when giving birth.
Gill Allen, Community Matron for Maternity Services, said: “This addition has been great for women as home-like birth environments have shown greater benefits, such as maternal satisfaction and less use of analgesia. In addition, midwives are happy at work and now take immense pride in their area.”
